Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge - Urban Waters Clean-ups


Come make a difference for Minnesota wildlife with staff from the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Learn about the Community Science App Literatti and how you can help pinpoint the types and locations of litter problems on the refuge and in your own community.

Gloves, trash bags, water and lunch are all provided. Please dress for changing weather, wear sturdy shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.

    Saturday, May 18, 10 am - 2 pm:
    We will focus on collecting litter washed into the refuge with winter snowmelt and flooding.

  • Saturday, July 13, 10 am - 2 pm: Work will include the replacement of invasive plants with the native species refuge wildlife need to thrive. Register below!

Where: Please meet at the 28th Street Metro Transit Parking Lot where you will board a school bus for travel to the clean-up location. Free parking is available at the pick-up location.

Before You Go: A completed Volunteer Agreement is required to participate in this event. Please download the form here and bring it with you to the clean-up.
