Mark Wilson, Iowa Program Manager
Knowledgeable. Resourceful. Passionate.
Mark is responsible for coordinating and managing the daily operations for nine young adult field crews across Iowa and Missouri. He also serves as the Corps’ main point of contact for the numerous emergency and disaster response deployments that we are involved in across the nation.
Mark joined the Corps as a crew leader in 2011. He describes himself as a home grown, corn fed Iowan through and through. After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Biology: Ecology and Systematics in 2010, he worked with the Iowa DNR before joining the Corps. 2012 brought Mark south of the border where he served with the AmeriCorps St. Louis Emergency Response Team. In the fall of 2012, he returned to the Corps as a staff member before taking on the Iowa Program Manager in the spring of 2014.
Seeing the progressive personal development of our members over the course of a service year is Mark’s favorite thing about the Corps. Outside of work, he spends a lot of time with his nose buried in books, enjoying all sorts of outdoor adventures and of course, going on long moonlit walks with his wife.
