IDEC Program Qualifications and Expectations

To be considered for the IDEC program you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Be in pursuit of a STEM major with a desire to work in natural resources/environmental careers upon graduation (Click here to see all accepted STEM Majors)

  • Accepted to or currently enrolled in a two or four-year full-time program at an accredited state, community, private, or tribal college/university*

  • Willingness to commit to the full IDEC program

* Proof of admission or enrollment is required

If you are accepted into the IDEC program, our expectations are that:

  • You attend an initial orientation 

  • Your schedule must allow you to actively participate with the cohort by attending scheduled monthly meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions from September through May

  • You accept and complete IDEC experiential learning and internships each summer

  • You maintain your academic standing at school throughout the IDEC program
