Janet Timmerman served in the Minnesota Conservation Corps in 1993, working on flood recovery in the aftermath of Upper Mississippi floods. In the late 1990s, she served on the Youth Corps Advisory Council in Minnesota and later on the Friends of the Minnesota Conservation Corps board. Her son served in the former MCC’s summer youth and young adult programs. Janet currently works as the education program coordinator at the History Center of Olmsted County in Rochester, Minn.
Robby Callahan Schreiber was a Conservation Corps Summer Youth Corps crew leader and coordinator for four years and has held several teaching positions in environmental education for high school and undergraduate students. He is now youth program manager for the Science Museum of Minnesota’s Kitty Andersen Youth Science Center.
Paul Bergstrom served as a Bemidji field crew member in 2004 and crew leader in 2005 and 2006. Currently he is studying civil engineering with a focus on environmental engineering at the University of Minnesota. Paul has volunteered with Mississippi hurricane and Iowa flood relief efforts and for the Minnesota Literacy Council as a math tutor.
Rudy Goldstein, a Conservaton Corps alumnus, kayaked from his Hutchinson, Minn. home on the Crow River to Hudson Bay. He launched the trip on Sunday, April 25, 2010 and paddled 30 miles a day for three months, raising environmental awareness and donations for Conservation Corps Minnesota.
