“Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.”
- Franklin Delano Roosevelt
After years of effort, the CCC Alumni Chapters 33 & 119, Minnesota Conservation
Corps and MN DNR State Parks secured a home for the “CCC Worker Statue” at
Gooseberry Falls State Park. While the ceremony is over, what remains is a statue
honoring the great work of the Civilian Conservation Corps in Minnesota. In the years ahead, those who go to the falls will be able appreciate the CCC legacy
with their children and grandchildren for many generations to come.
The statue dedication ceremony would not have been possible without the
generous support of the following individuals and organizations:
Wayne Brandt & MN Forest Industries, Inc.
Monty Dehn, Chapter 33 Treasurer
Timothy Flaherty
Dorian Grilley & Parks and Trails Council
Ralph and Mary Halbert
Jim Hanley
Lorraine Harmon
John Knapp
Craig Pagel & Iron Mining Association of MN
Michael Robertson
Thank you to everyone for attending and making it an unforgetable occasion.
