Matt Roegge

Central District Assistant Manager

Thoughtful. Inquisitive. Introverted.

Matt joined Conservation Corps after working with Tree Trust for nearly 13 years where he taught job skills and workforce readiness through landscape construction, tree care, property management, and urban conservation to opportunity youth. While working at Tree Trust, he hired nine Conservation Corps alumni to Crew Leader positions, allowing him to learn more about the Corps and appreciate the level of safety and professionalism instilled here.

Matt has a degree in Anthropology with a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies from St. Olaf College. Also, he is an ISA Certified Arborist and is licensed by the DOL to teach OSHA construction safety courses.

Outside of work, Matt’s toddler does not give him much spare time, besides reading books and playing with toys together. However, he loves cooking and learning new techniques in the kitchen, or researching, designing, and constructing some sort of building project. Two summers ago he built an electric guitar from scratch in the garage. He also does a fair amount of gardening in the summer and particularly likes trying out new heirloom peppers and saving seeds.
