Youth Opportunities
If you would like to work outdoors in teams to improve the environment, check out Conservation Corps youth programs. In the Summer Youth Program, you will live in tents and help restore natural areas for eight weeks, mid June to mid August, with a mid-term break. Start at a base camp at St. Croix State Park near Hinckley, Minn., then spike camp throughout the region improving trails, removing invasive species, planting trees, installing rain gardens and restoring native habitats. Youth Outdoors is our new afterschool program for Saint Paul teens, ages 15 to 18. Youth meet at Rec Centers in Dayton’s Bluff, North End, Frogtown and Payne-Phalen neighborhoods for 12 hours per week. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you’ll explore science and the environment and prepare for Saturday projects when you lead neighborhood volunteers to improve parks and restore natural resources. In the future, we hope to expand Youth Outdoors to other communities. READ MORE.
