Saturday, August 28th 2010 at Lilydale Park 10:00 AM- 12:30 PM
We would like to invite you to join More Kids in the Woods & the Friends of Lilydale Park to explore the Vento’s View and the Brickyard Trail. Come walk with us to explore and learn about this area which showcases caves, a breathtaking overlook, remnants of a former riverside town, a lake, riverfront trails, & a historic industrial site. During our walk we will observe some of the fall migrant birds as they pass through the park on their migration south.

This interpretive walk will provide information to help visitors discover, appreciate & enjoy the natural and human history that intersects in the unique place that is now Lilydale Park. Together we will explore this diverse, easily accessible natural area that feels rather rural, but is located in the heart of Saint Paul. The first 20 pre-registered participants will receive Free Metro Transit System “Go to Cards” with a day pass credited for this outdoor recreation activity. Pre-registration required & limited to 20 participants on a 1st come, 1st served basis.

Please note: The path / hike is hilly and requires some moderately strenuous walking & varied terrain. Please come prepared for the weather & exploring the outdoors. Things to wear / bring: closed toe shoes, hat, light long-sleeved shirt, bug spray, sunscreen, water. Please note: No bathroom facilities are available. Light snacks will be provided.
