Wildlife Studies Team Members

AmeriCorps Wildlife Studies Team Members (ages 18-25) will participate in on-the-job training and put those skills into practice assisting northern long-eared bat and white-tailed deer monitoring projects in partnership with Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Members will assist with a bat migration study July through November and monitoring white-tailed deer for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) during November and December. This is a physically challenging, team-oriented, outdoor AmeriCorps service position. Members will capture, radio-tag and perform telemetry-monitoring during the bat study. During the CWD study, members will educate the public on the disease, gather participant information and actively obtain deer lymph nodes for sampling.
